Our Austin client wanted to remodel their home's existing kitchen to create a brighter, more functional space. The original kitchen had an awkward shape, and it was small in relation to the scale of the residence. We revised the kitchen's floor plan and completely reoriented the room, moving it out of a corner closer to a set of large windows that bring in natural light. This new footprint created a much larger kitchen, allowing room for a built-in table for family dinners and a cushioned window seat where pets enjoy lounging and taking in the sun.

For the sink by the window, we kept the pre-existing plumbing place. But that’s the only portion of the original that remains. Everything else has been completely transformed. Hickory cabinetry, a marble backsplash, and white oak floors are a warm and inviting palette for the new kitchen.

We also relocated the pantry with the remodel. Now larger and more easily accessible, the storage area can be concealed with a pocket door.
